Accountancy
| Course information | Accountants help businesses keep track of their money, find new ways to grow and make bigger profits. If you love a challenge and you’re a good problem-solver, a Foundation Apprenticeship in Accountancy could be your solution. An FA in Accountancy is a great way to get hands-on experience in this fast paced, constantly changing industry. You will have the unique chance to develop skills and knowledge across a range of accountancy topics in a classroom, alongside a valuable work placement with an employer. The Accountancy FA includes the NPA in Accountancy (SCQF 6) as well as core units of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Certificate in Accounting (SCQF 6) and a work based challenge unit. Successful completion of the FA, and with further study at university the FA could lead to a career in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Economics. The FA also supports direct progression into junior roles such as Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Payroll Assistant, Bookkeeper, Accounts Clerk. |

| Entry requirements | Entry requirements for 2 year course - • Students must have gained one or more Nat 5’s in relevant subjects by the end of S4. • Students must be studying a minimum of 1 or more Highers in S5. • Students must be entering S5 and fully committed to studying a Foundation Apprenticeship over 2 years. • Students must have an interest in developing greater awareness of the industry and a strong desire to work in the service. |
