Consultations (lack of) and complaints via social media
Idea | You have put through policies without consultation with your community at every opportunity, and usually at a cost to your SLC residents. Instead of putting waffle on your website and social media how about actually doing something about all the complaints and comments on your social media posts? |

Response | In addition to the many statutory consultations that are carried out relating to specific issues/services, such as planning applications and roads closures, the council undertakes a wide range of other consultation activities. In the last year alone these included more than 40 events the council has participated in through our dedicated Community Engagement Team. These were in addition to 79 consultation events held to inform the annual budget-setting process during October to December 2023. The council additionally surveys residents to obtain views on a wide range of matters. Currently we have 5 surveys live and there were 37 previous surveys in 2023-2024. All of the surveys are reported on the council website consultation page at: https://www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk/directory/186/consultations Finally, when we are tagged into specific complaints and comments posted on social media these are passed to the relevant council department for information and, where appropriate, actioned. |
