About us | Kilbryde hospice provides specialist palliative care to the people of South Lanarkshire. We also offer outpatient services and home visits. |
Our Wish | My wish is to undertake an accredited secular mindfulness teacher training to integrate evidence-based mindfulness practices into our care provision at Kilbryde hospice. This initiative aims to enhance emotional and psychological support for patients and families facing life-limiting illness, grief, and bereavement. Mindfulness has been shown to improve wellbeing, reduce anxiety and depression, and support emotional regulation in individuals facing serious illness and end-of-life challenges. Families of palliative patients often experience anticipatory grief, emotional fatigue, and existential distress. Mindfulness offers a compassionate, accessible, and clinically supported tool to help them navigate these experiences. My plan is to enroll in the Mindfulness Teacher Training with the Mindfulness Association, which is: Accredited by [ BAMBA – British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches]. Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC) level one, Being Present, module 2-4 _£495. MBLC train to teach level 1, online £396, MBLC teaching level 2 in readiness to teach certificate with the aim to be registered with BAMBA £473. In total costing £1,364 The Anticipated Outcomes would be the development of a sustainable mindfulness offering at the hospice. Improved quality of life and emotional wellbeing for patients and carers. Increased resilience and wellbeing among staff and enhanced multidisciplinary working through shared mindful presence-based practices. To conclude Mindfulness aligns with the person-centered, holistic approach to palliative care at Kilbryde Hospice. It offers a meaningful, low-cost, and sustainable way to deepen our support for patients, families, and staff alike. Thank you for your time reading this wish to help fund or part fund this mindfulness teacher training. |
