About us | Skills Exchange SCIO is a charity that supports people from disadvantaged groups to build confidence, develop practical skills, and move closer to employment, education, or further training. We deliver structured, SQA-accredited programmes that combine classroom learning with personal development and hands-on work experience in areas such as horticulture, wellbeing, and enterprise. Our participants gain real-world skills through community-based projects and placements with local partners, including heritage and environmental sites. We also offer tailored one-to-one support, employability coaching, and volunteering opportunities to help individuals grow and reach their potential. |
Our Wish | We are seeking donations of laptops or Chromebooks to support our learners and community members during their time in our training centre. At Skills Exchange SCIO, we support individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds through structured training programmes and flexible, one-to-one support. In addition to delivering SQA-accredited courses such as Let’s Grow, Realising Your Potential, and Skills for Stronger Wellbeing, we also offer drop-in sessions for the wider community. These drop-ins provide vital access to digital tools and tutor support for things like coursework, job searches, contacting GPs, housing applications, benefit claims, and other essential services. To meet the growing demand for digital access and to help bridge the digital divide, we are looking for donations of 10–15 working laptops or Chromebooks (new or refurbished) for use in our office. These devices will help ensure no one is excluded from support due to lack of technology. There is no set deadline, but donations over the coming months would make a meaningful and immediate impact. |
