| About us | Soul of the Junction SCIO is a community-led charity based in Carstairs Junction, South Lanarkshire. We work to revitalise our rural village through inclusive, creative, and sustainable projects that benefit people of all ages and backgrounds. Our focus areas include transforming a disused village hall into a vibrant community hub, delivering climate adaptation initiatives through our Climate Ready Places project, and developing inclusive spaces such as sensory rooms and soft play areas for children with additional support needs. We also host free workshops, festivals, and support services that tackle social isolation and promote community wellbeing. |
| Our Wish | We are currently renovating a disused community hall in Carstairs Junction to create an inclusive, multi-use space for local residents. To help us progress more quickly and sustainably, we are seeking donations of surplus or reclaimed building materials. We welcome any type of support — from timber, insulation, plasterboard, internal doors, tools, paint, or fixings — that could contribute to the re-modelling stage of the building. Anything is welcome.These materials will directly support our charity’s mission to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all in our rural village. Donations are needed as soon as possible to support our ongoing works throughout summer and autumn 2025, spring 2026 and beyond. |
