About usHamilton Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) offers free, impartial, non-judgmental, and confidential advice, support, and representation to the residents of Hamilton and the wider South Lanarkshire area. We deliver a wide range of advice services within the community, by the community, ensuring people have the support they need to cope with any situation or crisis. We provide advice across 15 key areas of Scottish public policy and law, with specialist support in money and debt advice, in-court representation (housing and debt), fuel poverty, and welfare and housing tribunal work. Services are delivered via face-to-face drop-ins, appointments, telephone, email, and online support, ensuring accessibility and flexibility. By improving access to rights, maximising income, and tackling the root causes of financial hardship, our service directly supports poverty alleviation and promotes financial resilience, giving people the tools and confidence to move forward with greater independence. As a community-led, independent charity and a member of the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, we are governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. Volunteers make up 55% of our team, working alongside paid staff in management, frontline, and specialist roles. Together, we bring deep local knowledge, commitment, and lived experience to our work.
Our WishWe are seeking a generous donation of a 42-inch Smart TV for our community organisation. This invaluable asset will significantly enhance our volunteer training program, benefiting both new and existing volunteers from the local community. With this technology, we aim to reach a broader audience of potential volunteers with diverse needs, offering them a flexible and tech-assisted learning experience. Moreover, this Smart TV will be a fantastic resource for developing our community employability initiatives and the diverse group sessions we would like to offer. It will also prove incredibly useful during board and team meetings, accommodating our mix of office-based and remote workers, as well as partner meetings. Your support will make a tremendous difference in our efforts to empower and engage our community. Thank you for considering our request.
