About usAt Kilbryde Hospice we aim to support people, living with a life-limiting illness in South Lanarkshire to live and die well
Our WishI am seeking financial support for undertaking an accredited secular mindfulness teacher training course. This would be to integrate evidence-based mindfulness practices into our care provision at Kilbryde hospice. This initiative aims to enhance emotional and psychological well-being for patients and families facing life-shortening illnesses and for the staff and volunteers working at the hospice. Mindfulness has shown to improve wellbeing, reduce anxiety and depression, and support emotional regulation in individuals facing serious illness and end-of-life challenges. Families of palliative patients often experience anticipatory grief, emotional fatigue, and existential distress. Mindfulness offers a compassionate, accessible, and non-pharmacological tool to help them navigate these experiences. Kilbryde Hospice works with community partners and there is potential in taking mindfulness practices into the community and delivering to those living in the margins of society, which aligns with Kilbryde’s core values of welcoming, honesty, respect and responsibility. To complete the Mindfulness teacher training, I need to complete level 2 teacher training 2026, 24- 29th July 2026, at a cost of £530. This course is accredited by Accredited by (BAMBA – British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches). If successful, I will be able to offer two 8-week mindfulness courses under supervision to become qualified to teach mindfulness-based living Course, (MBLC).
