StatusCompleted
Consultation summary and backgroundThis survey follows on from the first round of engagement undertaken in 2023 and subsequent work to develop South Lanarkshire’s next Local Transport Strategy (LTS), which will cover the period 2025 to 2035. This consultation will inform the finalisation of the Local Transport Strategy for adoption at the end of this year.
Why are we consulting?South Lanarkshire Council working with transport consultants AECOM to prepare the next Local Transport Strategy which will cover the period 2025 to 2035. The LTS has been developed in line with the national and regional policy landscape, to develop sustainable, healthy and innovative transport opportunities in South Lanarkshire over the next ten years.

The purpose of this survey is to collect comments on the Draft LTS and Draft Environmental Report. This follows on from the first round of consultation in 2023, which aimed to identify transport-related challenges and opportunities and potential options to address these.

Findings from the first round of consultation alongside the review of existing policies and strategies and analysis of data have been used to inform the Draft LTS. A Main Issues Report is provided in support of the LTS. This sets out evidence for transport-related problems and opportunities and draws upon relevant data analysis and review of key national, regional and local policy of relevance to the LTS.
