South Lanarkshire’s Health and Wellbeing Survey for children and young people
We are planning to undertake a health and wellbeing survey for children and young people in November and December 2025.
What is the purpose of the survey?
The survey is part of our approach to Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC), meaning all services working with children and young people, and those that care for them, must play a part in promoting and safeguarding child wellbeing.
We would like to know more about the health and wellbeing of children and young people in South Lanarkshire. We hope that the survey will allow us to:
- Collect information about the health and wellbeing of children and young people across South Lanarkshire.
- Ensures children’s voices and experiences are taken into account when planning future changes.
- Give head teachers information to improve the health and wellbeing support they give to children and young people.
- Ensure our services are meeting the needs of children and young people.
- We aim to do the survey again in a few years’ time to look at whether children and young people’s health and wellbeing are improving.
We are asking children/young people in Primary 5, Primary 6, Primary 7, and all Secondary School children and young people to take part in the survey.
We would like as many children and young people to complete the survey as possible. This will help us to make sure their voices are heard.
The survey has been carefully and sensitively constructed following consultation with a range of partners, including young people themselves and parents.
This website contains important information about the survey. Children and young people will get information in school about the survey. Further information for parents and carers will also go out in the Parent Portal.
