South Lanarkshire’s Health and Wellbeing Survey for children and young people

We undertook a health and wellbeing survey for children and young people in November and December 2025.

What is the purpose of the survey?

The survey was part of our approach to Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC), meaning all services working with children and young people, and those that care for them, must play a part in promoting and safeguarding child wellbeing.

We would like to know more about the health and wellbeing of children and young people in South Lanarkshire. We hope that the survey will allow us to:

  • Collect information about the health and wellbeing of children and young people across South Lanarkshire.
  • Ensures children’s voices and experiences are taken into account when planning future changes.
  • Give head teachers information to improve the health and wellbeing support they give to children and young people.
  • Ensure our services are meeting the needs of children and young people.
  • We aim to do the survey again in a few years’ time to look at whether children and young people’s health and wellbeing are improving.

A summary report will be available on this page when our analysis is complete.
