Rent setting survey
Tenants have your say on the proposed rent level increase for 2026-27
Every year the council reviews its’ budget to inform new rent levels for the year ahead. A key part of this process is the consultation that takes place with tenants.
We want to ensure that tenants and other customers continue to receive high quality, efficient and responsive housing services. At the same time, we want to continue to be one of the most affordable landlords in Scotland, ensuring rents remain affordable to our tenants. This has been a key focus as we plan ahead into 2026-27.
Over the next few weeks South Lanarkshire Council tenants will have the opportunity to give views on the proposed rent level and council priorities for 2026-27.
Sharon Egan, Head of Housing Services said: “As living costs remain high, continuing to be one of the most affordable landlords in Scotland is important to us. We remain committed to our 3 year approach to setting rent levels, helping tenants plan for household bills and enable us to continue to deliver the high-quality housing services that our customers deserve.“
The survey will remain open until Monday 22 December 2025.
In addition to the survey, tenants will also have the opportunity to attend local/online meetings to discuss the proposed rent level and council priorities for the year ahead.
If you are interested in attending one of these meetings, please email StratSupAdm@southlanarkshire.gov.uk for more details.
