Rent setting survey

Tenants have your say on the proposed rent level increase for 2024-25

Every year the council reviews its’ budget to inform new rent levels for the year ahead. A key part of this process is the consultation that takes place with tenants.

We want to ensure that tenants and other customers continue to receive high quality, efficient and responsive housing services. At the same time, we want to continue to be one of the most affordable landlords in Scotland, ensuring rents remain affordable to our tenants. This has been a key focus as we plan ahead into 2024-25.

Over the next few weeks, council tenants will have the opportunity to give their views on the proposed rent level options and council priorities for 2024-25 by completing our online survey.

Chair of Housing and Technical Resources Committee, Councillor Davie McLachlan, said: “We understand that money is tight for many of our customers, so we continue to strive to remain one of the most affordable landlords in Scotland. At the same time, we also want to be able to continue to deliver the high-quality housing services that our customers deserve. This has been a key focus as we plan ahead into 2024-25.”

The survey will remain open until 12 January 2024.

In addition to the survey, tenants will also have the opportunity to attend local focus group meetings, to discuss the proposed rent options and council priorities for the year ahead.
