Proposed affordable housing development community update

Westwood Hill, pitches - appropriation of land

South Lanarkshire Council, having carefully considered the objections raised to Housing Services in relation to the Appropriation Notice issued under Section 24(2a) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1959 and placed in the East Kilbride News and on the council’s website between 1 April 2026 and 6 May 2026, has made the decision to appropriate the land at Westwood Hill, East Kilbride to support the proposed affordable housing development project progressing to the required next steps. The project remains subject to the relevant statutory approvals, including planning consent. The Executive Director’s report provides a summary and analysis of the responses received from the public.
