Garden waste uplift
Arrange a garden waste uplift
We’re making some improvements to how we collect garden waste uplifts.
From 29 June, when you book a collection, place your items in your garden or driveway on a hard surface or path, as close to the road as possible.
- Our crew will collect your garden waste items from your front garden, back garden, driveway, or a shared area at your block of flats. We will tell you where to leave the items when you make your booking.
- Items should be placed on a hard surface or path, as close to the road as possible.
- If there is no other option but to place the items on grass, they must be placed right next to a path or hard surface so that crews can reach them without having to walk across the grass.
Only if this isn't possible, place your items at the nearest kerbside collection point. If this applies to your address, we will tell you what to do when you make your booking.
You can book a garden waste uplift if you live in South Lanarkshire and need us to collect garden waste items. This service is only for residents. Businesses, landlords, letting agents and contractors must arrange their own waste collection.
The quickest way to book is online.

Arranging a private waste collection
If you choose to use a private company instead of our garden waste uplift service, make sure the waste carrier is registered before you hand anything over. This helps protect you and the environment.
Using an unregistered carrier can lead to your waste being dumped or burned illegally, which can result in fines or enforcement action.
You can check a company’s registration on the Scottish Environment Protection Agency website.
