Get help with your bin collection

If everyone in your household aged 16 or over is physically unable to move your bin, you can ask us for help to take your bin to the kerb on collection day and return it after it has been emptied. This is an assisted collection.

This support helps ensure your waste and recycling can still be collected safely and reliably.

Who can apply

You can apply for help if:

• everyone over 16 in your household are physically unable to move the bin
• there is no one else who can present the bin for collection

We will assess your request to make sure the service is suitable for your property.

Keeping collections safe

Our crews must be able to collect bins safely. We will not collect a bin if conditions make it unsafe. This includes:

• icy or ungritted paths or steps
• uneven or slippery surfaces
• unrestrained pets
• obstructions blocking access to the bin

Please make sure the route to your bin storage area is clear and safe on collection day.
