Keep children safe from blind cords
Five young children died through blind cord strangulation in 2010.
Research shows that most accidental deaths involving blind cords happen in a bedroom when children are unsupervised. The age group most at risk is children between 16 months and 36 months old, with more than half happening at around 23 months.
Our Home Safety Team is now rolling out the Make it Safe Campaign throughout South Lanarkshire. You can watch our Make it Safe Campaign on YouTube.
If you would like to get a campaign pack, information and safety device for looped blinds please contact Environmental Services.
