We take a practical approach to risk management to help us make the most of opportunities and reduce potential problems.

Good risk management supports good governance and helps us maintain strong internal controls.

How we manage risk

• identify, assess, manage and monitor risks we can control
• protect our employees, service users, assets, services and reputation
• support delivery of the Council Plan Connect 2022-27 outcomes

What we mean by risk

• a risk is anything that could stop us from delivering services or meeting our goals
• risks can affect our services, assets, employees, reputation, and how we work with the community and partners
• risk can also be a positive opportunity to improve services or work more efficiently
