Your feedback helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we need to improve. We want our performance information to be clear, accessible and useful for everyone, and your views play an important part in shaping how we present it.

There are several ways you can share your views:

How your feedback has improved our performance pages

We regularly test our performance pages with residents and volunteers. Here are some recent improvements based on your suggestions:

• simpler page layouts
• clearer summaries of Public Performance Reports and Annual Performance Spotlights
• better navigation to help you find information more quickly
• reduced jargon and clearer explanations
• improved labelling of figures and tables
• more links to detailed reports for anyone who wants to explore the data

What residents told us

In a detailed consultation, volunteers were invited to review our performance reporting pages. They rated their experience from 1 (very unhappy) to 10 (very happy).

Average scores (out of 10):

• Searching for information: 8.2
• Finding/opening pages: 8.4
• Moving around pages: 8.3
• Page design: 8.2
• Usefulness of information: 8.2

Participants also told us what could be improved — and we acted on it. For example:

You said: It’s hard to find relevant and up‑to‑date information.
We did: We updated our website and kept only the most recent three years of content.

You said: Reports are too long and difficult to navigate.
We did: We created clearer summaries, added links, improved layouts and introduced a new topic‑based navigation structure.

You said: You wanted easier ways to judge how well we are performing.
We did: We added more comparisons with other councils.

In one consultation, we invited a sample of volunteers to critically assess the performance pages on our website and make suggestions for improvements. The following suggestions have already been implemented:

• simplifying the layout of the performance pages
• summarise content and improve navigation for the Public Performance Reports

In a further consultation, volunteers were invited to review a sample of the new Annual Performance Spotlights presentation of performance information as opposed to the previous, more detailed Annual Performance Report. Responses were positive and the new reports well received. Some changes were made to the APSs prior to official publication on the website and the following comments were received and taken on board in the preparing the latest APSs:

• ensure narrative avoids jargon, abbreviations
• ensure figures are clearly labelled
• insert useful links to more detailed information/reports to help understand the statistics
