School transport

If your child attends primary school, you should apply for school transport when you register your child for primary school in January.

If your child is attending secondary school, you should apply for free transport in February before your child transfers from primary to secondary school.

This allows time for the Council to liaise with Strathclyde Partnership for Transport to tender and plan transport contracts for the August term.

You will receive an acknowledgment of your application within five working days. We will then write and let you know if school transport has been agreed.

If your application is received by 28 March you will be notified of the outcome by end of June. Applications received after 28 March will be notified in due course.
