Order revoking Lanark Air Quality Management Area 

Whereas South Lanarkshire Council ("the council") having caused to be conducted a review and assessment of air quality in Lanark is satisfied that the air quality objectives in respect of nitrogen dioxide specified in the Air Quality (Scotland) Regulations 2000 (as amended by the Air Quality (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2002 and 2016) will be met in the area described in the Schedule below for reasons of previous, current and projected compliance with the relevant air quality objectives. 

The council in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 83 (2) of the Environment Act 1995 hereby makes the following Revocation Order for the Lanark Air Quality Management Area designated in January 2016. 

It is hereby ordered that:

1.    The Air Quality Management Area known as Lanark Air Quality Management Area Order No.3 (Lanark) designated for nitrogen dioxide and as described in the Schedule below shall be revoked.
2.    The Order shall be cited as the Air Quality Management Area Order No.3 (Lanark) Air Quality Management Area Revocation Order 2020.
3.    The Order shall come into force on 1 February 2024

Schedule 

The designated areas outlined in black on the plan below and known as the Air Quality Management Area Order No.3 (Lanark) shall be revoked.
