Ceremony booking fees

If you are booking a civil marriage or civil partnership in South Lanarkshire, you need to pay a booking fee. This secures your ceremony date and time. 

What you pay

• booking fees cover the ceremony only
• statutory fees are separate and set by the Scottish Government (currently £155)

Extra fees

• if your ceremony is at a private venue, a registrar must visit beforehand. This costs £69.93
• if you change your booking after paying the deposit, we charge £43.23

Cancellation and changes

• booking fees are non-refundable
• if you cancel within 28 days of making your booking, we refund the fee minus a £43.23 administration charge
