Applications for occasional licences - Lanark Lanimer Day 2026

Licensing Division No 1 Clydesdale Area have decided to make a determination under Section 67 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 to the effect that the Lanark Lanimer Day policy will apply to on-sale premises within the Town Centre of Lanark on Thursday 11 June 2026.  Applications for occasional licences require to be lodged no later than 28 days before the date of the event. It is suggested that applications are submitted no later than Wednesday 13 May 2026.

Occasional licence applications granted in respect of external areas will be subject to the mandatory conditions as well as the following additional conditions: 

  • Commencement hour will be 12 noon on Thursday 11 June 2026 with a terminal hour of 7.30pm on the same day 
  • Plastic glasses must be used 
  • The area must be supervised by a named person who has completed the mandatory two hour training 
  • Suitable barriers must be in place 
  • No furniture may be used in those external areas
  • Size and location of external areas must allow for safe and unobstructed passage of pedestrians including those with disabilities
  • A plan of the external area must be available for viewing by representatives of Police Scotland 
  • A poster stating the management’s position on the removal of alcohol from the area and the terminal hour must be displayed in a prominent place within the external area 
  • A suitable number rubbish receptacle(s), and at least one, must be placed in the external area, with the area in the immediate vicinity of the same to be kept clean and free from any rubbish, empty glasses and the like generated from the licensed premises
