Short-term lets in Scotland – Licensing Scheme
Short Term Let Licence Policy Review 2025
Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (Licensing of Short-term Lets) Order 2022
We are starting the process of reviewing our Short-term Let licensing policy. We review the policy every three years.
The policy sets out how the licensing authority considers and determines applications for short-term let licenses. The policy also details the expectations the authority has of licence holders in operating their premises.
As short-term let licensing is still relatively new, we want to hear your views on the current policy and any changes you think would improve it. Your feedback will help us decide whether updates are needed.
We will review all responses to the consultation. Any feasible amendments will then be presented to the Executive Committee for approval.
You can also view the current policy online.
The consultation will run from Monday 29 December 2025 to Saturday 24 January 2026.
