Public transport information

You can travel across South Lanarkshire using a range of public transport services. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) plans and supports many of these services, including buses, MyBus and MyBus Rural.

They also provide travel products such as ZoneCards, day tickets and other travel passes.

Plan your journey

You can find timetable and journey information using the following services:

• Traveline Scotland for bus times and journey planning
• National Rail Enquiries for train times, fares and accessibility information
• Scotrail for train services and online ticket purchase

If you are planning a journey and need additional support, National Rail Enquiries provides information for disabled travellers.

Other useful journey planning websites include Traveline UK, which covers bus, coach, rail, ferry and other transport options.

Concessionary travel

You may be eligible for free or discounted travel if you are:

• aged 60 or over
• disabled
• aged 16 to 18

Airport travel

You can travel to Glasgow Prestwick, Glasgow International and Edinburgh airports by bus or train from South Lanarkshire. These services provide good connections to each airport.

Request a bus shelter

You can ask us to consider installing a new bus shelter.

All requests are assessed. To make sure we use resources effectively, a site must:

• meet minimum passenger usage levels
• have enough pavement space for safe installation
• meet accessibility requirements

When we receive a request, we will:

• carry out a site visit
• work with SPT to assess demand for the stop

We will review the findings and contact you once a decision has been made.
