Make a claim for road or pavement damage

How to make a claim

You can make a claim if you believe we are responsible for damage or injury. Start by calling our Customer Services Centre on 0303 123 1015 to request a claim form.

If your claim is about a road fault, you must first report the fault online. We will give you a reference number, which you need before asking for a claim form.

Fill in your form

Complete every section of the form clearly and in full. Missing information can delay your claim. Check the terms and conditions before you send it back.

What happens next

We pass all claims to our claims handlers, Gallagher Bassett. They will:

  • confirm they have received your claim
  • investigate the details and review the evidence

When you will get a decision

Gallagher Bassett will write to you with their decision.

  • Property or vehicle damage claims usually take about 3 months
  • Injury claims can take around 9 months

Some claims take longer, as each case is reviewed individually.
