Trunk roads and motorways
Transport Scotland (Scottish Government) is the overall authority responsible for Scotland’s trunk roads and motorways - including the A725, A726, A702, and M74.
Maintenance is delivered through contracts with private operating companies, either via standard operating contracts or DBFO (Design, Build, Finance, and Operate) arrangements.
