Review of polling district SL146 and polling places

We are carrying out a review of Polling District SL146 and the polling places where people vote in that polling district, specifically those voters residing in the streets Corsehill Crescent and Henshawhill Place, Hamilton. It is proposed that a new polling district (to be named SL177) be created and voters from these two streets will cast their vote at Woodhead Primary School, Woodhead Crescent, Hamilton ML3 8TB. We want to hear from residents in those streets if they think we are using the most convenient available places for people to vote. We are also keen to hear from people with disabilities, or organisations with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability, with their views on the premises or facilities used for elections. It would be helpful if responses could include suggestions for alternative polling places if it’s felt the existing ones are less suitable.

To give feedback you can complete the survey by Friday 18 November 2022 - alternatively, you can provide feedback by post to the Returning Officer, Election Office, 21 Beckford Street, Hamilton ML3 0BT, email elections@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or phone 01698 455745.

Please check the boundary map for this polling district or email elections@southlanarkshire.gov.uk for further information or to request a hard copy of the boundary map.

All representations will be reviewed by the Returning Officer who will make comment on the proposals. Responses must be received by Friday 18 November 2022 and recommendations will be available for final comment from Monday 21 November 2022 until Monday 28 November 2022.

Thereafter final proposals will be made, and the outcome published on our website and made available from the Election Office, 21 Beckford Street, Hamilton ML3 0BT.

Cleland Sneddon
