Pay Council Tax and rent through salary deductions

If you are a South Lanarkshire Council employee living in South Lanarkshire, you can pay your Council Tax or rent through your salary.

Pay Council Tax from your salary

You can ask us to take your Council Tax payments directly from your salary. To do this you need:

• your employee number
• Council Tax account number (you'll find this on your Council Tax bill). If you don't know your account number, you can request it using our Council Tax - account number request form

Council Tax deductions from your salary are calculated based on the balance of the Council Tax account and will come off your pay every four weeks from April to December (10 payments).

Pay Housing rent from your salary

To pay rent, update your details, or stop salary deductions, contact your Housing Officer.

Rent payments are four weekly from April to March (13 payments).
