Planning a public processions, march or demonstration
If you are planning a public procession, march or demonstration in South Lanarkshire, you must tell us at least 28 days before the event. This helps us keep people safe, manage roads and reduce disruption in local areas.
You can apply online, by email or by post. You can also comment on or object to a proposed procession or sign up to receive updates about upcoming events.
Apply to organise a procession
You must submit a notice if you are organising a procession or march that will take place in a public place.
You can:
- complete the online application form
- email us to request an application form
- return the completed form by email or by post
Please make sure you apply at least 28 days before your event.
Object to or comment on a procession
If you want to object to, or comment on, a proposed procession or its route, you can email us with your views.
Your email must include:
- your name and address
- your phone number and email address
- the date of the procession
- the location or route
- the name of the organising group, if known
- the reason for your objection or comment
We use this information to make sure all views are considered properly.
View upcoming processions
You can view a list of upcoming public processions and their proposed routes on our website as soon as we receive notification.
Get procession updates in your area
You can join our opt-in list to receive regular updates about processions. This can help you plan ahead if events may affect your area, travel or business.
You can choose to receive updates by email or letter.
