Pride in Place Plan - Neighbourhood Board

In September 2025, Hamilton Town Centre – An Anchor for the Hamilton area was identified by the UK Government to receive up to £20m over 10 years from the Pride in Place Programme.

The programme aims to support the most in-need neighbourhoods and has 3 core objectives: to build stronger communities, to create thriving places and to empower people to take back control. To find out more about the programme, go to www.gov.uk/government/collections/pride-in-place.

The Chair of the Neighbourhood Board is seeking applications to join the Neighbourhood Board, which will develop a Pride in Place Plan to outline their vision for change over the next decade and how they will use their funding to achieve their goals.

The board will also undertake additional extensive community consultation to support the development of the Plan.

Applications are welcome from individuals who have a passion for the town centre and the communities that use it. Representatives from the following groups would be welcome:

  • community leaders such as community groups, faith groups and youth groups
  • local businesses and social enterprises such as Business Improvement District representatives, Chamber of Commerce, and key employers/investors
  • cultural, arts, heritage and sporting organisations such as local sports clubs and heritage groups
  • public agencies and anchor institutions such as local schools, higher and further education establishments, community planning partnerships, and GPs
