Report a dead animal
Removal of dead animals
If you find a dead animal in a public place, you can report it to us so we can arrange safe removal. This includes animals such as birds, cats or foxes found in streets, parks or open spaces.
If the animal is in your garden or another private area, you can still contact Grounds Services for advice on what to do next.
What to report
You should report:
- dead wild animals in public areas such as parks, roads and footpaths
- dead pets where the owner is not known
For larger animals such as cattle, sheep or horses, contact our Animal Health and Welfare Officer at Environmental Services. These cases are handled separately to ensure safe and appropriate removal.
How to report
You can report a dead animal online. Please include:
- the exact location
- the type of animal, if known
- any access issues or safety concerns
This helps us deal with the issue as quickly as possible.
