Allotments and food growing

Allotments

Find an allotment or start growing your own food

We offer allotments and raised beds across South Lanarkshire where you can grow your own food, stay active and meet others. Due to high demand, there is currently a waiting list. You can apply for a plot or raised bed and we will contact you when one becomes available.

Where our allotments are

We manage seven sites across the area:

  • Allers, East Kilbride (115 plots)
  • Richmond, Rutherglen (38 plots)
  • Fernbrae Meadows, Cathkin (69 plots)
  • Murray Recreation raised beds, East Kilbride (70 beds)
  • Lammermoor, East Kilbride (65 plots)
  • Lesmahagow Road, Strathaven (23 plots)
  • Chatelherault, Hamilton (64 plots)

Plot numbers can change as we split or combine plots to meet demand.

What to expect

If you are offered a plot, you will sign a lease and agree to keep it in good condition. We carry out regular inspections. If a plot is not maintained to an acceptable standard, we may end the lease.

Allotments are shared spaces, so you will be part of a small, friendly community.
