CER01 – Financial Savings 2024-25 – Charging for Bulky Gardens Waste Collection
Title | CER01 – Financial Savings 2024-25 – Charging for Bulky Gardens Waste Collection |
---|---|
Council Resource | Community and Enterprise |
Aims and Objectives | Currently, residents can request a free uplift of garden waste that is too large to fit into the household burgundy bin and there are no limits to the number of requests that can be made. It is proposed to introduce a £40 charge for this service. Based on an estimated 25% uptake of the current service users, income of £0.045m is projected for 2024/2025. |
Conclusion | All households with a burgundy bin will be affected, regardless of any protected characteristics, however each household will have a choice as to whether or not to take up this enhancement to their current service (and pay the associated annual charge). It is therefore not envisaged that there will be any specific effect on this equality group. Issues relating to affordability and inequalities of outcome caused by socio-economic disadvantage will be picked up as part of the Fairer Scotland Duty Assessment. Approved by Council on 21 February 2024. |
Completion date | 21 February 2024. |
