| Our Wish | IPADS - 15 at £220 per item - £3300,00 St Columbkille's Primary and nursery in Rutherglen South Lanarkshire educates over 400 children. Our PTA represents both school and nursery. Following discussions with teaching staff, the problem of a lack of technological items was highlighted. We are asking for either donations or the finance to purchase iPads and reading/ numeracy devices to help our children learn and grow in this technological world. The Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) findings reveal that certain areas of Rutherglen are ranked in the top five per cent for deprivation in the entire country. The school is trying to combat poverty by initiatives such as free breakfast, mid-morning toast, and help with school uniforms. Some children have no access to e.g. I pads, and some do, this creates inequality in access to learning and creative tools. It would be so good for all children to have IT access. |
