| About us | We meet weekly for crafting. We knit blankets, hats, scarves and mitts for those in need in our community. Mostly we support Loaves and Fishes Foodbank - a local charity. Yarn is expensive. Most of our group are elderly and like to think they are supporting others. 91 year old Cathy says that knowing she can knit squares which are joined together to make a blanket keeps her going each night! |
| Our Wish | We are looking for a donation of £500 to spend on yarn (wool). It is very costly to buy yarn now and most of our members are very elderly and on fixed incomes with their pension. A ball of yarn costing £10 will knit 4 scarves. Last year we knitted 20 hat, scarf and mitts sets for children 34 hats and scarf sets for men 34 hats and scarf set for women 20 sets of juggling balls 31 balls with bells for toddlers 35 sets of clothes for Barbie 10 sets of clothes for baby dolls A donation for wool will really help us and also those who go to Loaves and Fishes for help and support. |
