Why has my general waste bin not been emptied?

There are some circumstances where we are unable to empty your non-recyclable (black/green) waste bin, these include:

  • The bin is overfull and unsafe for our crews to empty. In this case, you should remove the excess waste from the top of your bin until the lid closes fully and re-present your bin on the next scheduled collection day. You can also dispose of excess waste at any of our six Household Waste and Recycling Centres or you can request a bulk uplift.

  • The bin is damaged and unsafe for our crews to empty. In this case, please request a replacement bin, details can be found on the Non-recyclable waste bin page. We will only replace non-recyclable (black/green) waste bins free of charge if the bin has been damaged during the emptying process.

  • If you present excess waste beside your bin we will not uplift it. Please take excess waste your local Household Waste and Recycling Centre or request a bulk uplift.

  • We will empty one non-recyclable (black/green) waste bin per property only. If you continue to present more than one, we may remove the additional bin(s).
