Communications and Strategy provides a range of key corporate services in support of all Resources and accurate, timely information for employees and residents.
Communications
Communications provides a range of services across Public Relations, Digital, Graphics and Print that include:
- promoting the council, its policies and services
- media relations
- advertising
- photography and video
- South Lanarkshire View
- design and printing
- website, intranet and social media
Research and Improvement
This team manages a range of work relating to corporate improvement activity and research. This includes:
- managing the council's response to its statutory responsibility to demonstrate Best Value
- the preparation and review of the Council Plan 'Connect'
- co-ordination of corporate improvement activity and self-evaluation
- analysis and reporting on information and performance management
- leading Community Wealth Building activities and support of the CWB Commission
Community Engagement
The Community Engagement Team leads our engagement and empowerment work with communities. This includes:
- policy lead for tackling inequality
- acting as a single interface for community engagement, including neighbourhood planning
- co-ordinating Community Planning Partnership activities and support for the CPP Board.
- leading on the preparation and review of the Local Outcomes Improvement Plan (our Community Plan)
- overseeing Community Wish List arrangements
- supporting community capacity, including for Community Asset Transfers
Resilience
This team’s duties include:
- leading on corporate resilience arrangements
- representing the council in engagement with Local and Regional Resilience Partnerships
- leading the multi-agency Events Safety Advisory Group
