We are developing a Food Strategy that will cover the period 2019-2024. The Food Strategy will propose a vision for the development of a healthy, fair and sustainable food systems for the council, its partners and its communities.
The strategy will encompass social, health, economic and environmental concerns related to food. In particular, this represents a commitment to address food insecurity and poverty, food related issues and reduce the food impact on the environment. It will also take food as an opportunity to promote higher quality, thriving and sustainable communities.
The Food Strategy will built on current initiatives of the council and identify future opportunities within a single and comprehensive strategic framework. It will be put together in consultation with the community, third sector organisations, private sector and partners and is expected to be launched during the last semester of 2019.
