Communications Strategy

Our Communications Strategy explains how we communicate with residents, communities and other audiences. It supports our Council Plan, which sets out the council’s vision, values and the outcomes we aim to deliver for South Lanarkshire.

Good communication helps people understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and how they can get involved. It also helps us stay open, accessible and accountable in all our work.

What the strategy does

Our Communications Strategy:

  • supports the delivery of the Council Plan
  • sets out how we share clear, accurate and timely information
  • ensures our communication is accessible to everyone
  • encourages two‑way communication so we can listen to our communities
  • helps build trust across South Lanarkshire

Watch our animation

We’ve created a short animation that introduces the Communications Strategy and explains what it means for residents.

Our Communications Strategy sets out how we communicate with our local residents and other audiences.

The principal purpose of the Communications Strategy is to support the Council Plan, which itself sets out the council’s Vision, Values, and Outcomes as it carries out its work on behalf of local residents.
