Arrange a religious or belief marriage

If you are planning a religious or belief marriage in South Lanarkshire, both of you must complete and lodge notice of marriage forms. We use these to prepare your marriage schedule, which is the document you sign during your ceremony.

What happens next

Once we check your forms, we prepare your marriage schedule. One of you must collect it in person from the registrar no more than seven days before your ceremony. You need to book an appointment to do this.

After your ceremony, you must return the signed schedule to the Registration office within three days so we can register your marriage. You can return it yourself, ask someone to return it for you, or post it so it arrives on time.

Fees and payment

• £45 for each marriage notice form
• £10 for your marriage certificate
• Total: £100
