- A ‘wanted’ Registered Sex Offender is defined as those who are subject to the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and who have a live warrant in force.
- A ‘missing person’ is defined as anyone whose whereabouts is unknown and:
- where the circumstances are out of character; or
- the context suggests the person may be subject to crime; or
- the person is at risk of harm to themselves or another.

(6) The Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and a Sexual Risk Order (SRO) replaced the Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) and Risk of Sexual Harm Order (RSHO) respectively with effect from 31 March 2023 under sections 10 to 40 of the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016.

(8) These figures include all offenders who have been notified to the MAPPA Coordinator by the Responsible Authorities in the community and within the SPS estate or NHS facilities as at 31 March 2025. It should be noted the method of recording these figures in the Lanarkshire Annual Report was altered from 2018 onwards. Previously, these figures included all offenders who had been notified to the MAPPA Coordinator at any point between 1 April and 31 March.

Chapter 19 of the National MAPPA Guidance issued in 2022 (10) contains details (as below) of National performance Indicators (NPI’s) that each MAPPA area across Scotland reports to the Scottish Government each year, ‘Every SOG should evaluate its performance against the following National Performance Indicators:
The following are the Lanarkshire NPI stats for the current reporting period :
- 95% of Level 3 MAPPP cases reviewed no less than once every six weeks - Achieved
- 95% of MAPPA Level 2 cases reviewed no less than once every twelve weeks - Achieved
- Where invited, 90% attendance by each Duty to Co-operate (DTC) agency at an appropriate level of seniority for Level 2 and 3 meetings in community and custody. This includes attendance via telephone/video conferencing or a written report - In community Achieved
- Where invited, 90% attendance by Police Scotland at the agreed level of seniority for Level 2 and 3 meetings in community and custody including Scottish Prison Service (SPS) Risk Management Team (RMT) meetings - In community Achieved
- Where invited, 90% attendance by Community Based Social Work at the agreed seniority level for Level 2 and 3 meetings in community and custody including SPS RMT meetings - Achieved
