How to avoid getting a parking ticket
Parking attendants
We use parking attendants to help keep roads and car parks safe and fair. They can issue parking tickets if a vehicle is parked where it should not be.
Where tickets can be issued
Attendants can give a ticket if you park:
- on yellow lines
- in pedestrian areas
- in residents’ parking without a permit
- in a disabled bay without a badge
- in a car park without a valid pay and display ticket
Obstructive parking
Parking attendants cannot deal with obstructive or inconsiderate parking where there are no yellow lines. This is a police matter.
To report this, contact Police Scotland on 101 for non emergency advice, or visit their contact page.
