Litter, bins and street sweeping
Your role in making South Lanarkshire cleaner
Our aim is to make every town and neighbourhood in South Lanarkshire a cleaner, safer place to live, work and visit. We can only achieve this if we all work together, and there are simple ways you can help.
How you can make a difference
You can help keep your community clean by:
- looking after your neighbourhood and reporting litter or fly‑tipping
- organising a community, school or business clean‑up event
- setting a good example by putting litter in a bin or taking it home
- helping children and young people understand why it is important not to drop litter
Changing attitudes takes time, but small actions from everyone can make a big difference.
Report problems in your area
If there is litter in your neighbourhood, please complete our online reporting form and give as much detail as you can.
If you see someone dumping rubbish or if you want to report fly‑tipping, use our online form and include details about the location and type of waste.
