Local Place Plans
Submit a local place plan
When your community group has finished preparing a local place plan, you need to send it to us for review. Before you submit it, complete our submission checklist to make sure everything is included.
You must send both your plan and the completed checklist together. You can submit them by email or post.
How to submit your plan
You can send your local place plan:
- By email: lpp@southlanarkshire.gov.uk (maximum total attachment size is 50MB)
- By post:

Checklist of what to include
Your submission checklist helps confirm that your plan meets all requirements. You need to show that:
- your community body is properly registered
- you have provided contact details
- you have shared your plan with local councillors and relevant community councils
- you have included a statement explaining how you engaged with your community
- you have provided a map showing the boundary of your plan area
- you have confirmed if your plan is available on a website
Map file formats
If you are submitting a digital map, we accept the following formats:
- shapefiles (.shp)
- file geodatabases (.gdb)
- AutoCAD files (.dwg, .dxf)
- GeoJSON (.geojson)
- KML or KMZ (.kml, .kmz)
