Dangerous wild animal license conditions
1) The animals shall be kept by no person other than the person specified in the licence.
2) The animals shall be held at the premises specified in the licence.
3) The animals shall not be removed from the said premises without the agreement of the Local Authority.
4) A current insurance policy shall be maintained by the person specified in the licence to cover liability for any damage which may be caused by the animals.
5) The animals shall be kept in accommodation which meets the following requirements at all times:
i) The fencing around grassed areas to which the animals have access shall be maintained in good condition and shall be of such construction and height that the animals cannot escape.
ii) The shelters provided for the animals shall be maintained in such condition that dry shelter is always available, that the animals can be confined inside if necessary, and shall be kept clean at all times.
iii) All external gates shall be capable of being adequately secured.
6)An adequate supply of suitable food, drink and bedding shall be provided.
7)The health and welfare of the animals shall be monitored and maintained through regular veterinary checks. The frequency of these checks shall be specified in a health plan which shall be prepared for each animal. This health plan shall be drawn up in consultation with a suitably qualified veterinary surgeon, and shall include the recording of sickness, injury or death of each of the animals.
8) Prior to the hatching of chicks, or chicks being brought on site, suitable facilities for their wellbeing shall be provided and inspected by an independent veterinary surgeon.
