Community halls and school lets
The majority of schools in South Lanarkshire are available for hire by local community groups, individuals and commercial organisations. This is normally outwith school hours, weekdays from 6:00pm to 9:30pm and on Saturday mornings.
The type of space available includes games halls, assembly halls, gym areas and classrooms.
There are also around 90 community halls in South Lanarkshire available for hire. These range from small community halls, larger venues such as Cambuslang Institute, to our multi purpose venues:

- South Lanarkshire Lifestyles- Fairhill
- South Lanarkshire Lifestyles - Stonehouse
Most of the community hall network is operated directly by South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture. A small number, including Carstairs, Crawfordjohn and Douglas St Brides, are run as independent companies or by local management committees.
The community halls and schools network can be used for a variety of activities. This includes meetings, business conferences, youth activities, sport activities, social and community events and older peoples' clubs and activities.
