Adaptations, equipment and occupational therapy

Equipment for daily living

If your assessment indicates a need for the following, Social Work Resources can assist you to get equipment such as:

  • Grab rails
  • Handrails
  • Bath seat
  • Powered bathlifter
  • Shower seat
  • Toilet rail
  • Bed rail
  • Perching stool
  • Specialist equipment to support people who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Specialist equipment to support people who are blind or partially sighted

The service is currently free of charge however, a charging policy could be implemented in the future.

Some equipment is no longer provided because it is easily obtainable from mainstream shops/suppliers:

  • Special cutlery
  • Dressing aids
  • Kitchen aids
  • Non slip matting
  • Reacher (helping hand)
  • Kettle tipper
  • Tap turner
  • High backed chairs

A range of equipment is also supplied by NHS Lanarkshire and includes:

  • Walking stick
  • Walking frame
  • Wheeled walker
  • Wheelchair
  • Commode
  • Urinal
  • Specialist bed
  • Specialist mattress
  • Moving equipment such as hoist, standaid and stedy
  • Hearing aids
  • Low vision equipment
