Anti-social behaviour is behaviour that is likely to cause alarm or distress.
We have many Services that work to reduce anti-social behaviour.
Anti-social investigation team
The anti-social Investigation team works alongside the local housing offices, the legal team and our partner agencies to find solutions to serious anti-social behaviour problems. This service is available to all South Lanarkshire residents.
They are experienced in dealing with serious cases of anti-social behaviour and during their investigations they will interview all parties involved, issue and enforce legislation.
Local housing offices
Our local housing offices give advice and take complaints which they will investigate and take the necessary enforcement action.
Community wardens work in partnership with our other services and partner agencies. Further information on our Community warden Service can be found on our website.
Our Mediation Service is confidential and free to everyone who lives in South Lanarkshire. They can help resolve disputes between neighbours and family members. Further information on our Mediation Service can be found on our website.
Joint problem solving groups
As it is not solely a responsibility for one agency working alone, we work with our partners to achieve better and longer lasting solutions to anti-social behaviour problems in our communities. In partnership with Police Scotland, these groups continually review issues and identify trends of anti-social behaviour.
More information on how the Council and its community safety partners tackle anti-social behaviour can be found in our latest Annual Report
