Our 2025 to 2026 primary school lunch menu started on Monday 25 August 2025.

Each day, we offer:

  • two hot main meal choices, including a vegetarian option
  • a sandwich option
  • seasonal fresh fruit
  • a vegetable side and salad choice
  • soup or dessert, depending on the day

Menus are planned to give children familiar favourites while encouraging healthy choices. All meals meet the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drink in Schools (Scotland) Regulations 2020.

We display allergen information and nutritional content for lunchtime menu items. This information is as accurate as possible and should be used as a guide.

Please note that menus may occasionally change due to the availability of ingredients from suppliers.

School meal prices

  • free school meals are available for all pupils in Primary 1 to 5
  • pupils in Primary 6 and 7 pay £2.71 per meal

If your child is in Primary 6 or 7, they may still qualify for free school meals.

Waste warriors – Tackling food waste in primary schools

Our Facility Services team has joined forces with Education Resources to launch a new food waste initiative in local primary schools.

Pupils, known as ‘Waste Warriors,’ work alongside school catering staff to help cut down on food waste and raise awareness. Wearing high-vis vests and using learning materials from Zero Waste Scotland, these pupils encourage their peers to finish their meals and keep an eye on how much food is being left behind. Meanwhile, catering staff keep track of any waste from preparing and serving meals.

The programme helps children understand the importance of not wasting food and encourages better eating habits.
