Regulation and inspections from external bodies
Other inspections and audits of housing services
We regularly take part in inspections, assessments and audits to check that housing services are safe, well run and deliver value for money. These checks help make sure we meet legal duties, improve services and remain accountable to residents.
What is reviewed
Our housing services are reviewed through a range of national and independent frameworks, including:
- the Scottish Housing Charter, which measures how well housing services meet national standards
- Housing revenue accounts checks, which review how we manage and spend rent income
- the Best Value Framework, which looks at how efficiently services are delivered
- shared risk assessments, including work with audit scotland
- specialist audits such as pennington choices for gas safety and niceic for electrical work
- benchmarking through scotland’s housing network and housemark, which compares our performance with other landlords
Why this matters
These reviews help:
- keep tenants safe
- improve service quality
- identify risks early
- make sure money is spent properly
They also help us learn from good practice across the housing sector.
