Are you a carer?
Have your say
Carers have the right to be involved in decisions that affect them. Your experiences help us understand what works well, what needs to change and how support for carers can improve in South Lanarkshire.
There are different ways you can share your views. You can choose the option that suits you best, whether that is giving feedback once or being involved on a more regular basis.
Ways you can get involved as a carer
Carers shape support and services across South Lanarkshire by taking part in:
- consultations and surveys
- focus groups and discussion sessions
- panels, reference groups and advisory forums
Carer representatives are also involved in decision making. They sit on the Integrated Joint Board and help make sure carers are listened to and treated as equal partners when services are planned and reviewed.
Carers Connected Forum
If you would like to be more involved, you can join the Carers Connected Forum. The forum is run by Lanarkshire Carers and is open to unpaid carers living in South Lanarkshire.
The forum gives carers the chance to:
- share views and personal experiences
- influence how support develops
- connect with other carers
To find out more or join the forum, contact Lanarkshire Carers.
Share your experience on Care Opinion
You can share your experience of health and social care services through Care Opinion. This is an independent website where people share their stories about local services. Services can respond publicly and explain how they are making improvements based on feedback.
