Violence against Women and Girls Strategic Partnership in South Lanarkshire

Help if you are affected by domestic abuse

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, help is available now. You are not alone, and you do not have to cope on your own. We can help you find support, stay safe, and understand your options. Support is available for women, men, children and young people, including specific services for black and minority ethnic communities and LGBTQi+ people.

If you are in immediate danger, call 999. If it is not an emergency, you can contact Police Scotland on 101.

What support you can get

You can speak to trained advisers in confidence. They can listen, help you make a safety plan, and support you with housing, legal rights, health and emotional wellbeing. Many services are free and available by phone.

You can get help whether the abuse is physical, emotional, sexual, financial or controlling behaviour. You do not need to report to the police to access most support services.
